Lantern Post — local game prototype, version 0.1.3 An original word-ladder adventure for Play Games Daily. Pip the moth courier, the four districts, 32 letters, postcard messages, 566 short definitions, forest and character illustrations, user interface, game logic and gentle synthesised bell sounds were created for this project. SVG and Canvas are the artwork source formats. System fonts are used. Third-party input: 566 selected four-letter word spellings from Wordnik's MIT-licensed free wordlist. Upstream repository: wordnik/wordlist. Fixed revision: 46e6215d0f90356afe9c8ba4be347e7e98cb425c. Source file: wordlist-20210729.txt. No paid Wordnik definitions, frequency, part-of-speech or offence labels are included. Wordnik's full copyright and MIT permission notice accompany the selected data in LICENSES.txt and in the game's Credits dialog. No other game's source code, puzzle bank, characters, art, audio, fonts or branding is included. This package makes no affiliation claim with Wordnik or another game. The working title has not undergone a trademark clearance. Everything needed to play is local. No account, analytics, external service or external asset request is used. Sound starts only after an interaction and can be muted. The browser can store a namespaced local notebook; if it cannot, gameplay remains available in memory with an honest notice. The daily route changes at 00:00 UTC and follows the 32-letter route book in a repeating 32-day cycle, starting with letter 01 on 2026-10-19. Custom practice routes earn no postcards. Each curated letter earns one postcard on its first completion, shared across daily and route-book play. version.json records the shipped files and SHA-256 checksums. It excludes itself from the hash list. Development notes, tests, raw dictionary inputs, research and build scripts are not runtime files and are not distributed. Main-site shell integration 1 (2026-10-20): collection navigation points to /#games. In a same-origin host, an explicit collection-link click requests player exit through a source-checked message. Standalone sibling promotion links are omitted. The complete original license texts remain in this package.
