2048 — independent local edition Local edition: 0.1.1 Main-site integration (2026-10-20): page.js reports initialization and the first effective player move to its same-origin host. Host pause/stop and document visibility block input. The fixed game rules and storage keys are unchanged; no game-completion event is inferred from opening the player. Adaptation date: 2026-10-20 Original game: 2048 by Gabriele Cirulli Source: https://github.com/gabrielecirulli/2048 Fixed revision: 478b6ec346e3787f589e4af751378d06ded4cbbc Upstream license: MIT, Copyright (c) 2014 Gabriele Cirulli The complete license is included in LICENSE.txt and LICENSES.txt. This edition reuses the ten JavaScript files from that fixed revision. The game manager, grid, tile, input, HTML rendering and polyfill code keep their original algorithms. Eight of the ten files are byte-for-byte unchanged. local_storage_manager.js changes only three storage keys to the odd-caper-2048 prefix. application.js attaches the local page wrapper to the original GameManager instance after startup. The page, responsive CSS, direction buttons, screen-reader descriptions, storage guard, icon and decorative cover were written for this edition. The page wrapper updates local interface state and saves the existing keep-playing choice. The storage guard checks saved state, handles storage errors and keeps unreadable persistent data untouched while allowing an in-memory session. It does not replace the movement, spawning, merging, win/loss or score rules. No origin-wide storage clear is used. The original HTML, Clear Sans font files, stylesheet, Sassy-math-derived SCSS helper, favicon and startup images are not distributed. The new CSS uses system fonts and the new SVG illustrations contain only locally created shapes and text. No audio, external analytics, advertisement SDK, network game service or new third-party dependency is included. This is an independent adaptation, not the original author's official website. The decorative cover is an illustration, not a game screenshot. Upstream describes 2048 as a clone of 1024, based on Saming's 2048 and indirectly inspired by Threes; those names are context, not endorsements. This package is a noindex local preview. Its version manifest records the exact allowlisted files, byte sizes and SHA-256 digests. Automated source and rule checks do not substitute for browser and device acceptance. Main-site shell integration 1 (2026-10-20): collection navigation points to /#games. In a same-origin host, an explicit collection-link click requests player exit through a source-checked message. Standalone sibling promotion links are omitted. The complete original license texts remain in this package.
